Shan Shan Kou
Dr. Shan Shan Kou obtained her PhD from National University of Singapore in 2011. She held an invited assistant scientist position in École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) before accepting a DECRA fellowship at the University of Melbourne in 2012. She is mainly interested in how electromagnetic waves interact with biological samples and how to infer the biophysical model and functional pathways behind the interactions. Her DECRA project is about functional biomedical imaging with quantitative photonic signatures, and she is also investigating near-field optics phenomenon on cellular membranes.
