Marta Enciso
Marta is an expert in biocomputing. Her research interests lie in the intersection among physics, chemistry and biology, with a particular interest in understanding disease.
She uses molecular dynamics, homology modelling and quantum calculations to describe the behaviour of proteins in many different situations, from protein aggregation to cell invasion. She has a broad expertise in the design of coarse-grained force fields and simulation algorithms to characterize the effect of pH in proteins. Besides she is keen on drug design and is currently developing an open-source software to predict properties of potential drugs by computational means. Marta applies this computational and biological background to study disease, currently focused on toxoplasmosis and cystic fibrosis.
