Sonia T Henriques
Dr Sónia Troeira Henriques researches cell membranes as drug targets, and peptides as alternative therapeutics to treat cancer and infectious diseases at the Translational Research Institute (Brisbane, Australia). She obtained a PhD in Biochemistry/Molecular Biophysics (2008) from the University of Lisbon (Lisbon, Portugal). She was awarded several competitive fellowships, including a Marie Curie Fellowship (2008) and an ARC Future Fellowship (2015) to conduct postdoctoral research at The University of Queensland. Since 2018, she leads a research group focused on Peptide therapeutics and Membrane biology, and she is a senior lecturer in Biochemistry at Queensland University of Technology. She is one of the CIs working on the ARC Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide & Protein science.
