Jens Coorssen

Jens trained in Canada (BSc, MSc, PhD) with subsequent Fellowships at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research (Heidelberg) and the National Institutes of Health (USA). Following a NIH Visiting Scientist appointment he was an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, University of Calgary. In 2008 he was appointed Foundation Professor of Molecular Physiology at the new School of Medicine, University of Western Sydney. In 2009 he was asked to head the nascent UWS Molecular Medicine Research Group. He is an adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Medicine (University of Calgary) and a Foreign Associate of ICORD (International Collaboration On Repair Discoveries) and the Blusson Spinal Cord Centre (British Columbia).
